Light, everyday marks are generally fine — tiny stone chips, very light scratches that polish out, and normal signs of use. Leasing companies expect a car to have been driven.
What's usually charged
Dents, scuffed or cracked bumpers, scratches that have gone through the paint, and kerbed alloys typically fall outside fair wear and get billed.
The grey area
A lot depends on size and location. A scratch you'd barely notice on a door edge might pass; the same on a bonnet might not.
