Inside a Professional Respray, Step by Step

Ever wondered what your car goes through during a respray? Here's the process, start to finish β€” and why each step matters.

Graphite grey respray β€” coupe

1. Assessment and strip

We start by assessing the car and stripping back the areas to be painted, dealing with any dents, rust or old repairs underneath.

2. Prep and prime

Surfaces are filled where needed, sanded true, masked off and primed. This is the slow, unglamorous part β€” and the part that determines the final quality.

3. Colour-match and paint

Your colour is mixed to the factory code and fine-tuned, then applied in coats and blended into the surrounding panels.

4. Bake and finish

The paint is baked in a controlled booth for a hard, even, durable finish β€” then lacquered, reassembled and checked over before it comes back to you looking its best.
