Caring for a Fresh Respray: The First 30 Days

A new respray looks fantastic β€” and a little care in the first few weeks keeps it that way while the paint fully hardens.

Give it time to cure

Modern paint is touch-dry quickly, but it keeps hardening for a few weeks. During that window it's a little more delicate than fully-cured paint.

Washing

Hold off on machine washes for the first couple of weeks. When you do wash, use a gentle hand wash with a soft mitt and a proper car shampoo β€” nothing harsh.

Hold off on wax

Don't wax or seal fresh paint straight away β€” it needs to breathe while it cures. We'll advise when it's ready.

Where you park

Try to avoid parking under sap-dropping trees or leaving bird mess on the paint β€” clean it off promptly. A few weeks of care and your respray is set for years.
