A full respray isn't a single fixed product β it's a job that scales with the car, its condition and the finish you want. As a rough guide, a quality full respray in the UK typically ranges from around Β£1,500 for a smaller car in good condition up to Β£5,000 or more for a large vehicle, a premium finish, or a colour change. But treat those as ballpark figures only.
What affects the price
1. The size of the car
More panels means more prep, more paint and more labour. A city car and a large SUV are very different jobs.
2. The condition underneath
The paint is only as good as what's under it. Rust, dents, previous poor repairs and flaking lacquer all add prep time β and prep is where the quality comes from.
3. Colour and finish
A straight colour is simpler than a metallic, pearl or a full colour change. Changing colour also means painting areas like door shuts and the boot, which adds work.
4. The standard of finish
A cheap "blow-over" and a proper strip-prep-bake respray are worlds apart in both price and how long they last. We only do the latter.
Why we quote in person
Because every one of those factors varies car to car, an accurate price needs eyes on the vehicle. We'd rather give you a real figure than a guess that changes later. Bring your car down to our Grimsby workshop and we'll talk you through exactly what's involved β and if you need to leave it with us, ask about our courtesy car.
