What's happening
The clear lacquer over your colour has failed and started to lift, usually after years of UV. Once it goes, the colour underneath deteriorates fast.
Why you can't just paint over it
Fresh paint over failing lacquer has nothing sound to bond to, so it fails again. The area has to be taken back to a stable surface first.
The proper fix
We strip the affected area back, prepare it and refinish it, blended to match. On badly affected cars a full respray is often the tidiest answer.
Get it assessed early
Peel only spreads. Bring the car to our Grimsby workshop and we'll advise how far it's gone.
