Classic sports car — gloss black respray with gold coachline
Gloss black is the least forgiving colour there is — every ripple and every speck shows. This classic came through as a full respray with the panels off, finished with a hand-applied gold coachline.

The starting point
A classic sports car for a full colour respray. The brief was simple and demanding: deep, flat gloss black, with the bonnet, doors and boot lid done off the car so the edges and shuts are as good as the outer faces.
The process
- Panels removed and prepared individually — bonnet, doors and boot lid each on stands so every edge could be painted properly.
- Body masked and prepped in the booth, existing finish keyed and any imperfections sorted before primer.
- Gloss black applied and baked, then the panels and body brought together and finished as one.
- Gold coachline applied along the boot lid and flanks to finish it off.
The result
A black you can read a newspaper in. The photos show the car masked in the booth, the individual panels on stands, and the finished gloss with the gold pinstripe.
