Ford Mustang — metallic blue wing repair & blend
Metallics are where colour matching earns its keep. This Mustang's front wing was refinished in its factory metallic blue and blended into the door and bumper so you can't see where the new paint stops.

- Type of job
- Panel repair & respray
- Work carried out
- Front wing repaired, refinished in metallic blue and blended into the adjacent panels
- Where
- Our booth on Europa Park, Grimsby
The starting point
A Mustang with damage to the front wing. On a metallic like this you can't just paint the one panel and hope — the flake has to lie the same way as the panels either side, or the repair shows in the sun.
The process
- Wing repaired and prepared, then the whole front corner masked up in the booth.
- Colour mixed to the factory code and test-sprayed against the car, tinted until it matched in daylight and under the lamps.
- Base coat blended out into the door and bumper so the flake carries across the panels, then lacquered and baked.
- Flatted and polished so the texture matches the rest of the car.
Same car, same angle

The result
Under the booth lights the wing reads as one panel with the rest of the car. The photos show it masked and painted, the finish under the lamps, and the car done.
